Pupillage

Pupillage

DE SPEVILLE-DESVAUX is committed to taking on upbeat and enthusiastic pupils. Being an informal and friendly set, it encourages its pupils to be actively involved throughout their time at the Chambers.

Pupillage can be undergone under the supervision of Patrice Doger de Spéville or Angélique A. Desvaux de Marigny. All pupillage applications should be addressed to the Legal Secretary, Karen Maneevelloo (email: admin@despeville-desvaux.com). Such applications must be supported by a curriculum vitae (CV) and a brief personal statement (one page maximum).
The applicant is also required to clearly indicate the period of pupillage applied for and to provide full contact details.
Throughout their time at the Chambers, pupils will be asked to, among other things, conduct legal research, draft legal documents and attend
client meetings and court sessions.
Prior to starting their pupillage at DE SPEVILLE-DESVAUX, pupils will be also required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement and the Chambers Rules governing the pupillage.
All applicants are hereby informed and agree, that admission as pupil at DE SPEVILLE-DESVAUX does not automatically give rise to tenancy in Chambers nor does it give rise to any expectation of tenancy in Chambers.

Mini Pupillage

DE SPEVILLE-DESVAUX does not run any mini-pupillage scheme. The Chambers does however encourage students with an interest in a career at the Bar to spend a short period in Chambers, so as to acquire invaluable first-hand experience. Interested persons must apply directly to the Legal Secretary, Karen Maneevelloo.
